New GHS regulations have set specific labeling requirements. KICTeam is dedicated to keeping you informed of changes that affect the sale and transportation of our cleaning products. Transitioning all of our cleaning products to GHS will not be an overnight process. As your trusted supplier, KICTeam is committed to keeping you updated on GHS milestones. We help you do the right thing by taking the worry out of regulatory requirements.

4 New Regulatory Requirements:

 
Ownership of Pouch - Required on each pouch is a Manufacturer's or Distributor's name, contact address, and contact phone number.
Pictograms / Signal Words - Red and black icon(s) are required on packaging if the cleaning solution is classified as hazardous.
Primary Languages - Regulatory language on each pouch must be in the official language of the country in which the product is distributed. To meet global needs, while conserving space on pouches, we have determined three (3) language groups.
New KICTeam Part Numbers - Even though the products within the pouch are the same, each regional pouch will have a different part number to designate the language group.

Ownership of Pouch

Required on each pouch/label is a manufacturer or distributor's name, contact address, and contact phone number.

Standard pouches are printed “Manufactured by KICTeam, Inc. 1130 Minot Avenue Auburn, ME 207-517-7030”. KICTeam has built a reputation of being professional, responsible, and trustworthy. We sell to distributors and re-sellers and have no interest in selling to your end-user. We print our contact information in a faint grey to de-emphasize its presence. When appropriate, customer calls will be referred back to you as the supplier of the product.

Pictograms / Signal Words

Red and black icon(s) are required on packaging if the cleaning solution is classified as hazardous. This means that pouches need at least two (2) colors (red and black).

Signal words are required on packaging if the cleaning solution is classified as hazardous. The signal word indicates the relative degree of severity or hazard. The signal words GHS may require are "Danger" or "Warning".

Primary Languages

Regulatory language must be in the official language of the country in which the product is distributed. To meet global needs, while conserving space on pouches, we have determined three (3) language groups. Products in language groups Asia/Pacific and Europe/Canada will have new part numbers.

Implementation Dates

KICTeam has been proactive in transitioning our cleaning products to GHS. Providing you with beneficial information before it needs to be implemented will soften the changes and the associated costs. These efforts display the quality, reliability and completeness of our compliance management efforts.

KICTeam essential products will be phased in over the next 18 months

  • What is the difference between the safety data sheets that indicate "SDS" versus “MSDS”?

    The term “SDS” - (Safety Data Sheet) is something we will be hearing a lot more of with the implementation of GHS. SDS requires a 16 section format, as opposed to the 9 sections in the current MSDS’s – (Material Safety Data Sheet). KICTeam has already adopted the 16 section format for our four primary solutions and can provide them in French, Italian, English, and Spanish.

  • What is the time line for GHS?

    Manufacturers and suppliers that sell into Europe, the US, and other countries that have adopted GHS have until that country’s adoption date (June 2015 for most). KICTeam is starting the transition now to get compliant products onto your customer's shelves before the regulations are in full effect.

  • Why is KICTeam's name on the pouch?

    GHS requires the name, address and telephone number of the manufacturer or supplier of the product to be provided on the label. (4.3.6 Supplier Identification).

    Private label customers must print “Manufactured for YOUR COMPANY, YOUR ADDRESS, YOUR PHONE” or “Distributed by YOUR COMPANY, YOUR ADDRESS, YOUR PHONE”. (see private label policy Oceania, Canada, Singapore, Europe, US)

  • Why are there multiple part numbers for the same cleaning card?

    Regulatory information on each pouch must be in the primary language of the country in which it is distributed. To meet global needs, while conserving space on the artwork, we will offer three (3) language groups. Even though the products inside are the same, each regional "language" pouch will need a different part number. Products in language groups Asia/Pacific, Europe, and Canada will have new part numbers.
